Spring? Hah!

First of all, I want to report that the Midnight Concert we went to was well worth it. It was in a “cathedral” – bigger than a church here but smaller than cathedrals in larger cities. The A-frame shape resulted great acoustics. Most of the music was acapella performed by a group of 8 called Vokal Nord. Their blend and harmonies were wonderful.
We only had a few hours sleep because we got back to the ship at 1 then had to get on a bus by 7:45 for a morning-long tour. We went to a church dating back to the 1500s then visited a former farm that, after 10 generations in the family has been turned into a quaint restaurant. We got back on the ship at its next stop.
The day has been very snowy – large white flakes. I went geocaching with the Barbaras again. We got to the correct location but couldn’t get to the cache because of the deep snow. Now we are getting close to the Arctic Circle again on our way back south.
After cruising through beautiful scenery and seeing the trollfjord in the day, we docked at Svolvær. Last weekend was the world championship cod fishing tournament here. Tonight we just walked around the dock to a cozy pub that was once a fish factory. Lots of fun! The snow is coming down like the dickens, and we looked like snow people when we got back. Although it’s still early, I think we’ll turn I now early tonight.
